Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2026

1. Information We Collect

SchemaLens collects information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and authentication credentials. When you connect a Postgres database, we introspect schema metadata only — we never read or store row-level data.

We collect usage information such as pages visited, features used, and interactions within the application to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: provide and improve SchemaLens services, authenticate you and manage your account, send transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts), respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Database Schema Data

When you connect a Postgres database, SchemaLens reads schema metadata (table names, column definitions, constraints, indexes) in read-only mode. This metadata is stored to power workspace rendering and schema intelligence features. Your actual row data is never accessed or stored.

Database credentials you provide are used only for schema introspection and are never stored in plaintext. Connection strings are encrypted at rest.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@schemalens.io.

5. Third-Party Services

SchemaLens uses third-party services including: payment processing (Stripe), authentication (GitHub OAuth), and infrastructure providers. Each operates under its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum information required to operate these integrations.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted secrets, and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your credentials private.
